Gary’s House is Crocketts Cove Non-Profit Of The Month

    Gary’s House, a subsidiary of Mercy Health System of Maine that offers a quiet, safe and affordable home-away-from-home for families of loved ones receiving care at Portland hospitals, has been recognized as Crocketts Cove’s non-profit of the month. As non-profit of the month, Gary’s House will receive a percentage of the proceeds for the whole month of December.
    “We are thrilled to be the non-profit of the month for Crocketts Cove. A number of the people that stay with us at Gary’s House appreciate the affordable, hassle free accommodation in times of struggle. The partnership with Crocketts Cove will help us serve even more families,” explains Debra Lavoie, executive director of Gary’s House.

    Gary’s House was established in 1998 and is located in Portland’s scenic West End just blocks from Mercy’s State Street campus. It is open to any family member of any patient receiving care from local hospitals and can host up to 10 families. The proceeds from Crocketts Cove will help supply Gary’s House continue to support families during a medical crisis.

    Crocketts Cove, a Maine company, serves a higher social purpose, founded in 2014 with the vision to create a new kind of business that would satisfy a new kind of buyer.  Crocketts Cove is an online marketplace for local, handcrafted Maine products and is based on three tenants: Local, Handcrafted, and Socially Responsible.
