Mercy Welcomes Dr. Southall as Chief of Emergency Services

Dr. John C. Southall was recently named Chief of Emergency Services at Mercy Hospital. Previously, Dr. Southall was an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Maine Medical Center, where he also served as a resident research director.

Dr. Southall received his undergraduate degree from Colby College and his MD degree from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Southall has received numerous academic awards and has contributed to 11 peer-reviewed publications. He is also a consulting editor for The Annals of Emergency Medicine.
