Volunteer at Gary's House

Calling All Volunteers

Gary's House benefits from the gracious spirit of volunteerism and the generous gifts of time and talent from those who volunteer. Gary's House currently has volunteering opportunities in the following areas that might be of interest to you:

  • Guest check-ins: for the evenings and on weekends.
  • Cooking meals: perhaps you, your family, coworkers, an organization of which you are a member or a group of friends would like to bring in a prepared meal for the guests or prepare a meal on site in the Gary's House kitchen. You may prefer to make individual meals that could be frozen and reheated.
  • Seasonal projects: such as yard work, planting flowers, and interior household cleaning and holiday decorating tasks.
  • Office related duties: which may include data entry, phone calls to businesses, and sending out mailings.
  • Making cards (get well, generic, holiday): Guests take these to their loved ones.
  • Making up snack bags: with granola bars, crackers, fruit, gum, mints, juice box, water or sport drinks are some ideas.

If you would like to learn more about how you can help, please contact Mercy's Volunteer Department at (207) 879-3286.
