We understand that children have special needs. There are things you can do to help make your child more comfortable while in the hospital:
Bring your child's favorite blanket or toy.
Plan to stay with your child in the Ambulatory Care Unit and in the hospital throughout the operation.
We respectfully ask that you not bring other children into the Ambulatory Care Unit.
Explain to your child that you will be able to accompany him/her to the operating room
and will be present while anesthesia is given. You will also be allowed in the
recovery room if your child is under the age of 12.
