Dr. Michael Maskill
Dr. Michael Maskill is the 2008-2009 New England Foot and Ankle Specialists (formerly Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center) fellow. He is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan and earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical science from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI in 2000.
Dr. Maskill went to Podiatry school in Chicago, IL at the Chicago Medical School and graduated in 2005. He successfully completed his residency at the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA in 2008.
Dr. Maskill is published in Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, JAPMA, and has written a chapter for the next edition of McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery on posterior tibial tendon dysfunction.
Dr. Maskill enjoys wakeboarding and waterskiing and spent many years competing and teaching. He plans on returning to Michigan following the completion of the fellowship.
Dr John Maskill
John D. Maskill, M.D. was the 2006-2007 Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center (now New England Foot and Ankle Specialists) fellow. He is from Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio in 1997.
Dr. Maskill finished medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, graduating in 2001. He successfully completed his residency in orthopaedics at Grand Rapids Orthopaedic Residency Program in June of 2006.
Dr. Maskill has completed his fellowship at Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center. He is currently residing and practicing in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Dr. Michael Barnett
Michael Barnett Jr., M.D. was the 2005-2006 Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center fellow. He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University in Athens Ohio, in 1991.
Dr. Barnett finished medical school at Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, graduating in 2000. He completed orthopaedic surgical residency in June 2005 at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
Dr. Barnett is currently working in Ohio.
Dr. Aaron Colman
Dr. Aaron Colman, a native of Albany, New York, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of New Hampshire in 1995. He graduated from Temple University with his Medical Doctorate in 1999. He completed his orthopaedic residency at Albany Medical Center in 2004.
Dr. Colman is the eighth fellow to complete his fellowship training at Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center.
Dr. Scott Trumble
Dr. Scott Trumble, a native of Muskegon, Michigan, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan and a medical degree from Wayne State University. After completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center in 2000, he moved to Elkhart, Indiana where he has been in private practice.
Dr. Trumble returned with his wife and three children to Elkhart, Indiana upon completion of his fellowship at Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center.
Dr. Craig Barrow
Dr. Craig Barrow, a native of Ogden, Utah, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from Weber State University in 1993. He graduated from Loma Linda University with his Medical Doctorate in 1997.
Dr. Barrow was the sixth Orthopaedic Fellow to train under Dr.Gregory Pomeroy at the Portland Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center.
Dr. Barrow has been involved with research concerning surgery of the Achilles tendon and fixation of scaphoid fractures. He is currently practicing in Spokane, Washington.
Dr. Timothy Gueramy
Dr. Timothy Gueramy, a native of Midland, Michigan, earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1990. He began his medical education at the Royal College of Dublin in Ireland. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, with his medical doctorate degree.
Dr. Gueramy is interested in computer technology and has been involved in projects that combine medicine and technology. He devised the first computer-based histology program in Ireland. He is an outdoor sports enthusiast. He is currently practicing in Austin, Texas.
Dr. Peter Ameglio
Dr. Peter Ameglio was born in Washington DC and is a native of the Republic of Panama. He earned his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in exercise physiology from the University of New Hampshire in 1988. Following college, Dr. Ameglio conducted basic research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He then attended Albert Einstein College where he received his medical degree in 1995.
After completing an orthopaedic surgical residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York City, Dr. Ameglio began his year-long fellowship (sub-specialty) training in foot and ankle surgery under Dr. Pomeroy at the Portland Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Center in South Portland.
Dr. Ameglio is published in the American Journal of Physiology and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Dr. Ameglio is an avid outdoorsman and scuba diver. He is also a licensed pilot.
Dr. Ameglio joined New England Foot and Ankle Specialists (formerly Portland Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center) on September 1, 2006 after his previous employment by Core Physicians in Exeter, NH.
Dr. Susan Mosier-LaClair
Dr. Susan Mosier-LaClair, a native of Bay City, Michigan, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan in 1989. While working toward her Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology at Oakland University, she was accepted to medical school. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1994 with her Doctorate of Medicine.
After completing her orthopaedic surgery residency at the Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University in June, 1999, she began her year-long fellowship training in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery at Portland Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle under Dr. Pomeroy.
After completion of her fellowship in July 2000, Dr. Mosier-LaClair joined Family Orthopaedic Associates in Flint, Michigan and began her own orthopaedic foot and ankle practice.
She has written for the Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, Foot and Ankle International, as well as for Biochemistry and Biophysics Et Acta, and Endocrinology.

Dr. R. Howard Pike
Dr. R. Howard Pike, a native of Lapeer, Michigan, earned his Bachelor of Science degree in pharmaceutical chemistry from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1986. Dr. Pike received his M.D. from of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1988.
After completing his orthopaedic residency training at the Detroit Medical Center, Wayne State University in June of 1993, Dr. Pike entered private practice in Raleigh, North Carolina. His experience in general orthopaedics eventually led to a keen interest in the disease processes of the foot and ankle. In August of 1998 Dr. Pike joined Dr. Pomeroy for a one-year fellowship in foot and ankle treatment and reconstruction.
Since his completion of the fellowship in August of 1999, Dr. Pike has practiced as a foot and ankle specialist with the highly regarded Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Pike is a licensed physician in the states of Georgia and South Carolina. He is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the international AO Foot and Ankle Surgical Trust.
Dr. Pike has authored reviews and articles for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Foot and Ankle International. He is active in Atlanta community and physician education.

Dr. Michael D. Castro
Michael D. Castro, DO, received his degree of Doctor of Osteopathy from the University of North Texas in 1991 and his orthopaedic residency training at Michigan State University. Dr. Castro received his orthopaedic fellowship training, specializing in foot and ankle surgery, from the Portland Foot and Ankle Center in Portland, Maine which was followed with an AO/ASIF Fellowship in Bellinzona, Switzerland.
