It is necessary to verify your insurance coverage and/or receive pre-certification for hospital services from you insurance company. Your surgeon's office should take the necessary steps to obtain the certification.
Mercy has financial counselors who can assist charity, self pay, Medicaid, uninsured, and under insured patients. Arrangements can be made prior to surgery if a payment plan is necessary.
When you receive your hospital bill, it will not include your doctor's fees. In addition to your surgeon, there may be other specialists who participate in your care, such as radiologists and anesthesiologists. You will be billed separately, by them, for their professional services.
