Is there a better place to deliver then the new Mercy Hospital Birthplace on the
Fore River? I cannot imagine a place more adept at making a family feel more comfortable. The modern, spacious, and warm atmosphere created at the new facility complements their amazing nursing staff. The nurses were kind, intelligent, and insightful to arising situations during the recent birth of my baby girl, Elle Nicole. Because the nurses are all cross-trained in pre- and post-labor skills, (a rarity nowadays), continuity of care was maintained. They worked seamlessly with both us and our physicians. My physicians from All About Women have always been absolutely fantastic and they did not let me down! My husband and I have been thoroughly impressed by their medical and inter-personal skills. To complement the fantastic nurses and physicians was the new Mercy Hospital Birthplace on the
Fore River. I was impressed by the size of my room with its private, large whirl-pool tub and well hidden, easily accessible, modern medical instruments. My husband enjoyed the sleeper sofa that matched up with my hospital bed to maintain a cozy, in-home feel so that we could cuddle together with our new infant. We were also impressed by the fresh, tasty home-made meals ordered off a menu and delivered to us by room-service.
Two years ago I had a great experience with the delivery of my first daughter at the prior Birthplace at
Mercy Hospital on
State Street. The same nursing staff and physicians were outstanding. I could not believe that an experience could be any better until I recently had my second daughter at the new facility. Since then, I have also had a small surgical procedure at the new Mercy. Again staff and medical equipment/environment was excellent. I hope that the word spreads around
Southern Maine that Mercy has this amazing jewel to be enjoyed by all.

"I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy at your new facility on October 3rd. Every one of the staff made me feel so supported through the birth process and my brief stay. I can't stress enough how all employees conveyed that they LOVE working there. From the people who took my lunch order (and remembered me the next day) to the receptionist that transferred me to billing (who took just a moment to ask about baby height/weight and provide his well-wishing), you have an amazing fleet of gifted individuals. Please let them all know that their enthusiasm and devotion to patients really matters. My best to all of the families of Mercy employees. Thanks again for providing a lovely, forever memory for our family."
