Gary's House Today
Our story: Gary's House Today

It took Gary's family, friends and Kennebunk community over seven years to fulfill Gary's dream of a home for families with hospitalized loved-ones.

Gary's House was opened in 1998 in an elegant Federal-style home in Portland, Maine.Since then it has welcomed families from all corners of Maine, across the country and from around the world.

Gary's House was designed to provide many comforts of home. Our bedrooms are spacious and thoughtfully decorated and families have access to a number of community rooms, such as a kitchen, landry room, playroom, living room, dining room, a computer room and small reading area.

All bedrooms are equipped with a telephone, answering machine, a TV and clock radio.Sheets and towels are also provided.

To stay at Gary's House, our guests must live beyond a 20 mile radius of Portland and have a loved one with a life- threatening or serious illness who is receiving treatment in a Portland area hospital.

Room fees are $15 per night, per room.
